A Towel and Blanket Drive with a Big Impact

A huge thank-you to everyone at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston who donated towels, blankets, sheets, and other linens for animals in need!

The collection was facilitated by the UU Animal Ministry of Houston and the church’s Community Projects Team, who worked together to gather these much-needed supplies from members of the congregation.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we collected an impressive amount of bedding and delivered it to Twilight Tails Ranch in Fulshear, where it will be put to immediate use helping keep rescued dogs and other animals clean, comfortable, warm, and cared for.

Twilight Tails rescues more than 300 dogs each year, so supplies like towels and blankets are always needed. They are used for kennel bedding, freshly bathed dogs, veterinary care, cleanup, and simply giving an animal a soft and cozy place to rest.

We were thrilled to load up the donations and deliver them directly to the ranch, where they were very gratefully received. Dakota, Hank, and Linda Lopez joined us for the photo with the donated supplies, making it a wonderful snapshot of the people and pups behind the work.

Thank you to the UU Animal Ministry of Houston, the Community Projects Team, and everyone at First UU who cleaned out a linen closet, brought in a bag, or helped make this collection such a success. It’s a wonderful example of how our church community can come together to make a practical difference for animals in need.

Together, we turned spare towels and blankets into comfort and care for rescued animals.
