2nd Annual Emergency Pet Preparedness Workshop Was a Great Success

We’re thrilled to report that our 2nd Annual Pet Emergency Workshop exceeded all expectations! The event brought together passionate pet owners, dedicated professionals, and furry friends for an afternoon of learning, networking, and community building.

Outstanding Speakers Delivered Valuable Insights
We were fortunate to have three exceptional speakers who captivated our audience with their expertise and engaging presentations. Michel Hurtado from BARC shared crucial insights about emergency animal care and rescue operations. Lindsay Kahl from Revival Dog Training provided practical training techniques that could prove lifesaving in emergency situations. Eileen Allan, Estate Planning Attorney, addressed the often-overlooked but vital topic of planning for our pets’ futures. All three speakers were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely engaging, keeping our attendees interested and informed throughout their presentations.

Record Attendance and Four-Legged Participants
The workshop drew approximately 50 attendees, many of whom brought their beloved dogs along for the experience. The atmosphere was lively and educational, with both two-legged and four-legged participants actively engaged in the day’s activities. It was heartwarming to see so many dedicated pet owners taking proactive steps to be better prepared for emergencies.

Community Partners Made a Difference
Barrio Dogs made a significant impact at the event, bringing their infectious enthusiasm and valuable information to the crowd. Their presence added an extra layer of community engagement, and attendees were delighted to meet some of their adorable foster dogs. The organization’s dedication to animal welfare was evident.

Generous Sponsors Enhanced the Experience
Our attendees were overwhelmed with gratitude for the emergency kits and goodies provided by our wonderful sponsors. Loyls, Rice Village Animal Clinic, Modern Animal, and Three Dog Bakery all contributed to making this event special. The emergency kits were particularly well-received, giving pet owners practical tools they can use to keep their companions safe. The generous donations from our sponsors demonstrated the strong community support for pet safety and welfare.

Volunteer Appreciation
None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event run smoothly. Many thanks to Paul Smolen, Pam Perry, Cindy Chandler, Edmund Pantuliano, and Camille Lee for their dedication and hard work. Their commitment to the cause and willingness to help made all the difference in creating a successful and memorable event.

Looking Ahead
Based on the tremendous success of this year’s workshop, we’re already planning to make this an annual tradition. The 3rd Annual Pet Emergency Workshop is in the works for next year, and we’re excited to continue building this important community resource.
We value your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts about this year’s event. Your input helps us improve and ensures that future workshops continue to meet the needs of our pet-loving community.

Save the Date: Paws, Claws and Birthday Cake
Mark your calendars for our next event on September 6th! “Paws, Claws and Birthday Cake” promises to be a fantastic celebration designed especially for children. This fun-filled party will combine entertainment with important educational content about how to read animal behavior and properly care for companion animals. It’s the perfect opportunity for families to learn together while having a great time.
The success of our 2nd Annual Pet Emergency Workshop reminds us of the incredible strength of our pet-loving community. Together, we’re creating a safer, more informed environment for all our furry, feathered, and scaled friends. Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and made this event possible!
