Help stop the EATS Act!

This year has been historic for animals, with the Supreme Court of the United States upholding the strongest farm animal protection law in the country, California’s Proposition 12. But this hasn’t stopped lobbyists for the pork industry who have turned to Congress, pushing for federal legislation to undo not just Proposition 12, but potentially any state sales regulation aimed at addressing animal welfare or a host of other concerns.

The so-called “Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression” (EATS) Act (S. 2019/H.R. 4417) is designed to wipe out state laws that ban the sale of products from cruelly confined egg-laying chickens, mother pigs and veal calves.
